Are you washing your face before going to bed? Did you know that its the most important part of our skincare regimen? It is one of the things that most people take for granted! Busy schedules and too much work in the morning will result to tiredness thus we tend to skip washing our face in the evening. Though, some may not skip it, washed their face every day but they are doing it all wrong! Check this out as you may be one of the persons who until now don’t wash their face properly.
If you wash your face incorrectly, it can lead to all kinds of problems like damaged skin tissue, inflammation and redness, acne and dryness. The skin in your face is different from other skin on the rest of your body, so it requires different treatment. So follow our step-by-step guide to get your skin clean and keep it healthy.
Step 1: Wash your hands
Dirty hands can transfer oil, bacteria and dirt to your face, so start cleaning your hands with antibacterial soap. And if you have an eye makeup, remove it before you begin to cleanse. You may not be able to clean into your pores if makeup is there. Use makeup remover on cotton pads or makeup wipes.
Step 2: Splash warm water over your face
Warm water opens your pores and helps clean deeper, so avoid using cold water if possible. If the water is too cold, your pores will tighten and you won’t be able to clean them out. On the other hand, if the water is too hot, your skin will get dried out. So, lukewarm water is best to use when washing.
Step 3: Apply your preferred cleanser
Applying Organic Facial Cleanser is better here. Spread all over the face gently in circular motion, especially if you have acne. Apply a bit of pressure when you wash to stimulate blood flow, but don’t press too hard. Scrubbing hard will make it worse or even leave scars.
Step 4: Scrub your skin gently
Use damp, soft washcloth or soniclear to gently massage your skin in circular motions. Start on your forehead, and then move down the nose to the chin, and then scrub each cheek. Remember not to apply too much pressure and don’t pull.
Step 5: Rinse away the soap thoroughly
Splash your face with slightly cooler than lukewarm water, rubbing gently with your hands after each splash. Don’t forget the edges of your face and the area around your nose and ears. Many people tend to miss the edges of their face which leads to soap residue build up and can cause unsightly breakouts. You may also pat your skin dry with a clean towel but remember no to wipe or rub because it can also tear and irritate your delicate skin.
Done! Now which part of your face would you start washing? Start washing your face at your forehead, and work your way to your nose, then outward to your cheeks and eventually down to your face and neck.
